Vlogmas 2020 # 1 / Baking Christmas Cupcakes with Bella

Hello Friends & Family!

Well, what a year! I’ve been super sick and have had to pause my “called aside” series – God is working on me to surrender some things to Him FULLY, before I can finish my post: Called Aside # 2 – Our Surrender.

So it is still coming! Through these months of sickness, (one downside to post-transplant life!) I have been called to surrender my own timeline and accept God’s perfect timing instead. I must admit, it is something I have to lay down everyday. Sometimes, every hour, every moment of this difficult journey! I just have to pivot and be willing to let go of my own desire for perfection and follow God’s direction for my day.

So all that said, my daughter, Bella, and I we have decided to do something casual and fun in the meantime…

Vlogmas 2020 / Puckett style!

Bella has been praying all month:

“Dear God, please let this be the best Christmas EVER!”

Sick Mama Me is thinking “oh no, how is our quarantine Christmas possibly going to be the best ever!?!?” But then we started brainstorming and decided this would be a super fun way to preserve both old and new memories. It is not an easy thing to be a parent with chronic conditions; its like even when I am doing well, a part of me is always looking over my shoulder, waiting for the axe to fall…

So I am laying my vanity aside, listening to God and open to being fully present with my daughter. Not only for this Christmas season but that is a huge goal for me in the coming year. Making the best use of our time, doing meaningful work without completely depleting my energy.

Alright lets get to it! This is a fun, silly, VERY long (30 minutes – oops! I’m still learning about editing videos!) video of Bella and I baking Christmas Cupcakes and sampling her new Christmas Playlist! To our family, we miss you so much and even though we cannot be together right now, we are so thankful that we can be together in spirit. I hope Bella’s joy and enthusiasm over celebrating Christmas encourages and warms your heart 🙂
